Suzuki Gixxer, SF get rear disc brake

Suzuki has added a rear-disc brake equipped variant to the Gixxer line-up in India. The Gixxer continues to be powered by a 155cc motor.

This engine is a single cylinder, air-cooled unit and is mated to a five-speed gearbox. It makes 14.8hp power and 14.02Nm of peak torque. Suzuki claims to have incorporated a new technology that reduces all kinds of mechanical energy loss to improve economy and performance. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks in the front and monoshock at the rear. Suzuki launched the Gixxer back in 2014.

Called a ‘street sport’ motorcycle, the Gixxer is said to have taken its styling and design elements from the GSX-R1000. Styling highlights include a large fuel tank, digital instrument console, twin exhausts, LED tail-lights and body-colored grabrails. The Suzuki Gixxer is available in five colour shades. The bike maker is also readying an FI variant of the Gixxer, which will launch around Diwali.
