Ather 450X deliveries to start in November

Back in January, Ather launched the 450X - an updated, more feature equipped iteration of the standard 450. The company also revealed a list of 10 cities where the scooter will first go on sale - Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Kochi, Kolkata and Coimbatore. Now, Ather has sent out a press statement that the deliveries of the 450X will start in November, with Bengaluru and Chennai first on the list.

Next on the list will be Hyderabad, Pune, Ahmedabad, Kochi, and Kolkata where deliveries are set to begin at a later date in November. Deliveries in Delhi and Mumbai will follow, in December. While, Coimbatore will get its first batch of 450X scooters in Q1, 2021.

In an attempt to allow potential customers to experience the 450X, Ather is also planning to start offering test rides across all its markets from October. Additionally, the company tells us that it will set up its Ather Grid infrastructure with 10-15 fast charging points across each of the aforementioned cities before deliveries begin.

Tarun Mehta, Co-founder & CEO, Ather Energy said “The pandemic did disrupt our timelines by a few months, but we have been able to get back on track with our plans. We used the time to refine our expansion plan and get the ball rolling on our go-to-market strategy. We have also been working very actively with our supplier partners to ensure minimal disruption in the supply chain. We will soon share more information on our dealer network and Ather Grid points across each city.”
