Abarth 595 Competizione to be launched next month

The hot hatch segment in India will see another entry next month, which will be in the form of the Fiat Abarth 595 Competizione. The 500 Abarth didn't too well in India, and this time round, Fiat hopes this Abarth will seed some excitement for the brand.

The hatchback comes with a 1368cc four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that makes 158bhp and 21.4kgm of torque. With the sports mode engaged, it is capable of changing the turbo geometry and producing up to 23.45kgm of torque. The engine comes mated to a five-speed AMT gearbox which transfers power to the 17-inch wheels. The car is 3657mm long, 1627mm wide and 1485mm tall.

On the outside, the door handles, wing mirrors and the grille get graphite-like finish. On the inside, the interiors carry the same sporty design that the exterior exhibits. It has Sabelt race seats, and the foot pedals are made of machine alloys. The steering wheel is sporty too, with a flat bottom, and the dashboard has a graphite finish as well. It also gets a clear LCD display for the driver's instrument cluster.

The hatchback is estimated to be priced around Rs 27-30 lakh (est, ex-showroom, Delhi) when it is launched next month. Only limited numbers of the Abarth 595 will be sold.
