Haval H9: The King enters the ring

Great Wall Motor’s Haval H9 is what every luxury SUV should aim to be

There are some cars that make you curious about them at first glance, and then want to acquire them. The Haval H9 is one such SUV. The H9 is the one of the largest SUVs in the line-up of Haval, a brand owned by Chinese automotive giant Great Wall Motor (GWM). GWM is China’s largest manufacturer of SUVs, and it’s SUV brand Haval is widely known as ‘Global Intelligent SUV Expert’. All of this expertise shows in the massive H9, which is among the Haval H-series vehicles that have won plaudits the world over. The three-row H9 is a full-size SUV that measures 4,856mm in length, 1,926mm in width, 1,900mm in height and a 2,800mm wheelbase means there is more than ample space for seven people to sit in great comfort. Like with any true blue SUV, the H9 is equipped with an ATS All-terrain control system with a high and low range, Hill Descent Control, and an off-road crawling function. The SUV is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that makes 165 kW (224 hp) and 385 Nm of peak torque. An 8-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox is standard. Electronic driver aids include ABS, ESP, and hill-hold control, among others. Other features include automatic headlights with LED DRLs, automatic wipers, eight-way adjustable driver’s seat, automatic climate control, a multi-function steering wheel with paddle shift, 9-inch touchscreen system that is paired with an 8-speaker sound system, among others. The Haval H9 is also equipped with advanced technologies such as Intelligent Voice Control and Advanced Telematics Support which make it an Intelligent SUV.

The H9 is among the many capable vehicles on display at the GWM pavilion. Besides the H9, other SUVs on display include the Haval F7, F7x SUV-coupe and F5. GWM also introduced audiences to the GWM EV brand which has products like the iQ electric fastback sedan and R1 electric hatchback. Equipped with high capacity batteries, intelligent technologies and powerful motors capable of delivering an exhilarating drive combined with phenomenal range, the EVs are on a mission to prove that the future can be both sustainable and exciting.
