Using synthetic engine oil on Hyundai i10 after CNG conversion

I have been using Mobil 1 fully synthetic oil on my 2007 Hyundai i10. I recently had CNG installed. Can I continue to use the same engine oil? The mechanic’s advising against it. Please advise.

AAA It is better to use synthetic oil on CNG engines as CNG tends to heat up the engine significantly more than petrol. You need to ensure that draining intervals reduce though — change oil more often to keep the engine in fine nick. It is recommended that you change the oil every 5,000-7,000km. It might end up being a bit expensive with fully synthetic oil, but is definitely worth it. If you want a cheaper alternative, a good semi-synthetic oil like Castrol Magnetic Semi Synthetic 10W-40 will also work well. But the change interval is again critical.
