Stuck in reverse

I recently encountered a gear problem with my 2012 Hyundai i10, which has covered 2,075km. I shifted the gear into reverse, it got engaged, but the car did not reverse. It took a few tries for the gear to engage properly and the car to move. Do I need to get the car checked?

AAA Something is definitely amiss if the issue crops up repeatedly. You should take it up with the service station and have them inspect the car’s gearbox thoroughly – especially the shift selector and synchroniser for the reverse gear. If there is an issue, you should have the parts changed under warranty.
