My Interceptor 650 is due a second service and has only covered 1,500km. Should I change the engine oil changed or just top it up?

Oil change on a low mileage Royal Enfield Interceptor 650

I own a Royal Enfield Interceptor 650. It's due for its second service with just 1,500km on the odometer. Should I change the engine oil or just go ahead with a top-up?

    Subhash Sharma, via email

Your running is very low, but the second service oil change is generally important, as there is still a higher chance of impurities and tiny metal residue in the oil. Moreover, Royal Enfield will probably insist that you change the oil and not doing so may have implications on your warranty.
