I currently drive an i10 Nios petrol and cover about 3,000 km per month, roughly 50% on the highway. My budget is ₹20 lakh. We are a family of four and I prefer an automatic with good ground clearance. Which vehicle would you suggest?

Since you have been driving a Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and are used to Hyundai's ecosystem, the natural upgrade would be the Hyundai Creta. It is an excellent SUV that offers a good balance of performance, ease of use and features and holds its value very well. The Hyundai Creta Diesel S(O) AT would be our recommendation as your high running will be better suited to a diesel engine.

The 6-speed automatic gearbox is smooth and convenient in the city and also adept on the highways. Over bad roads, the Creta has a good ground clearance, resulting in added peace of mind.

I’m new to earning and have a limited budget. Please suggest suitable options. Looking at your requirements of reliability and fuel efficiency, along with a good safety rating, we would recommend you look at the Maruti Suzuki Dzire. It is a three-cylinder engine; however, this should not be something you should worry about as the unit has adequate performance, in fact, a very good low-speed response. The Dzire is a sedan, but it fits within the sub-4 meter footprint, and that, along with its light controls, will make it an easy drive for you.

The turbo petrol engine is a very good performer, and along with the CVT automatic gearbox, it delivers an enjoyable drive experience. The ride is good, there's a good amount of equipment, and it's very well priced. With the update, Nissan has also addressed some of the cost-cutting issues around the cabin.

Asked by: Abdulkadir My Highness is smooth and great for two-up riding. I’ve taken it on trips to Kerala and Tawang. Now I want a bike that is compact, fast, and has good suspension for Mumbai city use. Which bike would you suggest? Some options you can consider are the TVS Apache RTR 310, KTM 390 Duke, Triumph Speed 400 and Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450. The Triumph and Royal Enfield aren't as overly sporty as the other two and will have a more effortless riding experience owing to their torque delivery, which is earlier in the rev band. The KTM 390 Duke is a proven product when it comes to sheer speed, but in its latest avatar has become quite compact, which may not be the best thing if you are a larger person. Last but not least, the TVS Apache RTR 310 has great handling and reasonable performance. We would recommend getting the variant with the quickshifter on the TVS as that offers the best value for your money. Take a test ride of everything you're considering before you decide.
