I am 67 years old and want to replace my Maruti Wagon R with an SUV. It should have a manual gearbox, good air-conditioner and comfortable suspension. My daily commute is only 5km and my budget is Rs 7 lakh (on road).

Autocar India says: The Tata Punch base 'Pure' variant meets your requirements to the T. Its wide opening doors and tall stance make getting in and out quite convenient. You are seated quite high, so visibility is good. And with light controls, it will perform daily urban duties competently. This Tata has a very mature and compliant ride quality, so it feels planted at all times, and exudes a sense of toughness. You could also consider the Renault Kiger as an option.
