Choosing between a Audi A3 and Skoda Octavia

Should I buy an Audi A3 or a Skoda Octavia 1.8 petrol DSG Onyx edition? From a resale point of view after 3.5 years, which one will fetch better value? As the A3 is offered with a good discount, putting it at
Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom), and is company sponsored (for road tax and insurance), I feel it is a better deal. If the A3 is your suggestion then should I buy a petrol or diesel (again, for a better resale value
    after 3.5 years).

AAA - The Octavia is a brilliant all-rounder offering superb performance, a comfortable ride and a quality cabin. However, at a discounted price of Rs 25 lakh, the A3 is irresistible to pass up. Apart from the badge value, the A3 offers a great ride, strong performance and a minimalistic but well-built cabin. The main downside is that rear space is quite cramped, but if you drive yourself it shouldn’t be too big a concern. The current Octavia will be discontinued in April 2020, impacting its resale value. However, the A3, too, doesn’t have a good resale value. In both cases, you should be prepared to take a knock when it’s time to sell your car. Overall, the A3 is a better buy and you should go for the petrol as the diesel engines will be phased out by next year.
