Buying a new SUV with a 25 lakh budget

Looking for an SUV in the budget of Rs 20-25 lakh with good ground clearance, brand value, driving pleasure, space and comfort.

I want a new SUV within Rs 20-25 lakh. My priorities are a good ground clearance, brand value, driving pleasure, space and comfort. I have shortlisted the Tata Harrier and Jeep Compass. Should I wait for the MG Hector or the Skoda Karoq? I also like the Honda CR-V but it’s expensive. What about a used Skoda Kodiaq?

AAA - The Skoda Karoq won’t be coming until the second half of 2020, so that rules it out for the moment. The MG Hector is the most spacious and well-equipped SUV in its class with lots of first-in-class ‘connected’ features, thanks to an embedded SIM in the car. The Harrier is tough and has a good ride but is not as spacious as the Hector. The Compass is has even lesser space but drives the best. The CR-V is overpriced but is the easiest to drive. So, there is no one car that ticks all the boxes for you. However, it would be worth waiting for the Hector to see how it performs.
