Buying a Batt:RE One electric scooter

I wanted a clarification regarding Batt:RE, the start-up from Jaipur. Any thoughts on the company? I'm planning to purchase their scooter, the RE ONE. I am waiting for Ather to come to Hyderabad, but I think it would take some more time. Hence I planned for this one. Please advise whether it's a Chinese-assembled product or in-built.

So far, the only electric two-wheelers that are truly Indian (fully designed and developed in-house) come from Ather, Bajaj and TVS. More companies are developing their products, but the above mentioned three are the only ones currently on sale. Almost every other electric two-wheeler sold in India is designed, developed and, in many cases, even manufactured overseas. These products are generally locally assembled in India after making small changes and localising some components to meet FAME II subsidies.
