Why is Toyota not adding a 6-speed manual transmission to the Innova or the Fortuner? A bit more mileage to the Innova will help it against the competition.

AAA: It's not easy or often feasible to simply put a 6-speed gearbox into a car. Firstly, the gearbox has to be compatible with the engine and the current 5-speed units on both the Innova and Fortuner have been engineered to meet the characteristics of the 2.5 and 3.0-litre engines. It is possible that in the future, Toyota may introduce a 6-speed gearbox on the next-generation Fortuner and Innova but that is only likely if both these models get serious engine upgrades.
