New TVS scooter to use rear fuel-filler

We previously showed you the very first spy pictures of TVS’s upcoming automatic scooter, after which this latest batch of spy images show TVS are on the brink of launching their latest, to augment their existing automatic scooters, the Scooty Pep and Wego, taking the fight to industry leader, Honda and their popular Activa. 

This new scooter will be TVS’s first full-size scooter, as seen in visibly larger overall proportions as compared to its more petite stable mate, the Wego. All-black alloy wheels will be standard kit, as well as conservative styling cues. The pictures show the new scooter uses a bold analogue, white font on black background speedometer, and a set of contemporary, flush-fitted turn signal indicators front and rear. At rear, TVS is providing its latest scooter with a smart looking alloy pillion grab bar.

The new images show a new feature, in a fuel-filler lid that has been placed just over the scooter tail-lamp. So you won’t need to get off or open the scooter seat and hold it open each time the petrol attendant ‘fills it up’ and can also expect to find more generous under-seat storage space as another welcome bonus. We expect the new scooter to offer industry standard specifications and conveniences, including an electric starter, along with ample features to match all rivals.

TVS’s new scooter should share several mechanical components with the Wego, using a 110cc, four-stroke and force air-cooled engine, with an industry standard CVT automatic transmission system. The latest TVS will seat riders in a comfortable, upright riding position on a long, lightly stepped saddle. Telescopic fork suspension will be used in front, along with a single hydraulic rear shock absorber, where the engine doubles up as a frame stressed member. TVS’s new scooter is equipped with drum brakes front and rear, although we do also hope to see a disc brake variant as is already offered with the Wego.

This new TVS scooter will enter the Indian market before the Indian festive season.
