Maruti to deliver 111 Alto 800s in one day

Maruti  is set to create a second record for delivering the highest number of cars from a single outlet on November 1 when it delivers 111 of its new Alto 800 cars in Kerala. The cars will be delivered by an authorised company dealership – KVR Kasargod at the municipal stadium in Kasargod.

This milestone follows the delivery of 200 Altos on a single day (19 October) at a single outlet by another dealership AM Motors at Kottakkunnu in Mallapuram district near Calicut in Kerala. Maruti claims this was the first time in India when so many cars were delivered at the same time.

The new Alto 800 has already notched bookings of over 30,000 units, of which about 13,000 are likely to have been retailed by now as per industry estimates.

While the Alto has received bookings pan India, some of the key states where it has been popularly received are Kerala, Assam and Punjab.

It is believed that entry level buyers exist in larger numbers in these regions compared to cosmopolitan cities and metros like Delhi where customers already possess a car and the new Alto would be a second buy.
