Another packed issue of Autocar India is out on stands. This March, our cover story is an India-exclusive drive of the brand-new BMW 5-series, and a drive of its chief rival, the Merc E-class that’s hit our shores in an all-new, long-wheelbase avatar. There's also a comparison between the diesel-powered Hyundai Grand i10 facelift and its rivals – the Maruti Ignis and the Mahindra KUV100 and plenty more. Here’s a quick summary.

    New BMW 5-series

The brand spanking new 5-series is headed to Indian showrooms sometime around mid-2017, and we are the first ones in the country to slip into its driver's seat for for an exclusive and extensive test-drive. Read all about the car in our cover story.

    Maruti Ignis diesel vs rivals

With the Ignis, India's largest carmaker has launched one of the most stylish hatchbacks that's hit our roads. It takes on the likes of the Mahindra KUV100 and the Hyundai Grand i10, which recently got a nip and tuck and a bigger, more powerful diesel engine too. And so, we pit the diesel variants of these three cars against each other to tell you which mid-size diesel hatch you should pick.

    Porsche 718 Spyder

In addition to the new 5, we're also the first ones in India to take the Porsche 718 Boxster out for a spin. Just like you, even we vere curious about whether turbocharging and engine downsizing spoiled the perfect sportscar, and this month, we have our answer. Also inside is are drives of the new Panamera Turbo Executive and the 450hp 911 GTS.

    Mercedes-Benz E-class long wheelbase

The brand new E-class is finally here, and this time, it will be available only in a long-wheelbase avatar. We got to sample the 3.0-litre V6 diesel-powered variant and you can read all about it in the issue. It’s surely a car for those who like to stretch out at the back!

    Honda City facelift

Honda's hot-selling mid-sizer has recently been facing some serious heat from rivals like the Maruti Ciaz. Hence, the carmaker has given its stalwart some much needed sprucing-up. but in the process, has also bumped up its prices quite significantly. We find out if the City still has what it takes to be the best in the segment.

VW GTI vs Mini Cooper S

The recently launched VW GTI is insanely expensive and properly fun to drive! But can this 192hp Polo outclass, what is considered 'the' bonafide hot hatch, the Mini Cooper S?

Bajaj Dominar vs Mahindra Mojo vs RE Himalayan

If you are looking to buy a new tourer under Rs 2 lakh, you would certainly have the Bajaj Dominar on your list. We tested it against its chief rivals, the Mahindra Mojo and the RE Himalayan, to tell you whether the Bajaj is really worth all the hype.
