India’s first real sportscar is almost here, and we’ve got an early drive of it. We’re talking, of course, about the DC Avanti, and it’s more than just a pretty face. We’ve also got a bunch of luxury cars from Mercedes, BMW, Jaguar and Porsche, a full road test of the new Mini Cooper, and a very exciting scoop from Maruti. Check it all out in this month’s issue:

DC Avanti: You might now the company for its extravagant one-off cars and modifications, but India’s very own DC design has now given us its first in-house sportscar. It’s called the Avanti, it looks absolutely wild, and we’ve got an exclusive drive of it in this issue.

New Marutis: Hot on the heels of the Ciaz, Maruti is soon going to bring us two new models that fit with its steady move up the price charts. It wants to beat the Hyundai i20 and Ford EcoSport at their own game with two new models, codenamed YRA and YBA, and this month we’ve got all the details on these exciting new cars.

Mini Cooper D: The Iconic Mini is back grown up, and with a very likeable diesel engine. The interiors have been updated with more space and more attention to detail. We did a comprehensive road test to see where the new Mini shines, and where it falters.

New Mercedes-Benz C-class: The C-class has long been the entry-level Mercedes-Benz luxury sedan, but thanks to the new range of compact Mercs, it no longer has to be. As a result, the luxury quotient gets a huge bump, as does the level of equipment and comfort in this all-new model.

Six-cylinder diesel luxury: Mercedes has brought back its six-cylinder diesel version of the E-class the E 350 CDI, and we’ve pitted it against two of the other luxury bigwigs in the segment, the BMW 530d and the Jaguar XF 3.0 D. Which of these powerful and efficient luxury cars is best for you?

Benelli TNT 600: The Italian motorcycle manufacturer is about to bring the first in-line fours in the segment to India. Available in both a wicked naked guise and a tamer tourer form, the two 600s are built to take their jobs very seriously. We get astride the Benelli TNT 600i and the TNT 600GT.

Motorsport: Probably one of the most fun things we did this month was to go behind the scenes and help put a Polo R Cup car together. Not only this, we also have a special feature dedicated to Ferrari's recently retired boss Luca Di Montezemolo's. We also chat with Neel Jani, Porsche's factory driver, about his life with a 919 race car.

All this, and a whole lot more in this issue of Autocar India! Copies on stands now.
