We get behind the wheel of Skoda’s third-generation Octavia, and drive an array of Mercs – the new E-class, A 180 CDI, B 180 CDI and GL 350 CDI. Plus, we pit the all-new Ford EcoSport against the hugely successful Renault Duster to find out which compact SUV is the best. We take the new Cayman S to Mahabaleshwar, and we hop on to the saddle of BMW’s powerful F 650 GS. We also spend a day with John Abraham and his latest obsession. Read all about it in the action-packed July 2013 issue of Autocar India.

    Skoda Octavia

Skoda’s Octavia was the car that kickstarted the company’s success in India; and the Czech carmaker is bringing back the moniker with its third-generation Octavia. We get behind the wheel of the Skoda and find out if it can kick up as much of a storm as the first Octavia.

    Mercedes-Benz E-class

The E-class has always been Merc’s bestseller. The facelifted E-class isn’t just a minor update, it’s a significant improvement over the previous car.  We get behind the wheel of the E and find out just how improved it really is.

    Mercedes-Benz A, B and GL-class

Four new Mercs in one issue. We get behind the wheel of the new GL 350 CDI, the diesel B-class and the diesel A-class, both equipped with the 180 CDI engine.

    Porsche Cayman S

The old Cayman was considered to be the best handling sportscar in the world. The new Cayman S promises to be even better. We decided to give it a thorough India-specific test on varied road conditions. So, we took it all the way to Mahabaleshwar.

    John Abraham’s Gallardo

We spend a day with John and his latest obsession, a spanking new Gallardo LP 550-2. John is a motorcyclist at heart, but he wanted a car that gave him the same rush as a superbike. Enter, his brand new black Gallardo.

    Renault Duster vs Ford EcoSport

The Duster created quite a buzz when it was launched. In fact, it sold more cars than Renault had anticipated. But this dream run may soon come to end, courtesy Ford’s eagerly anticipated EcoSport. We put both through our rigorous road test. Find out which compact luxury SUV is India’s best.

Mahindra Vibe vs Swift vs Dzire

Is it fair to compare the Vibe to a hatchback or a compact saloon? We decided to do both, and pit the Verito Vibe against the Maruti Swift and the Swift Dzire.

Honda CB Trigger vs Yamaha FZ-S

Honda’s replacement for the CB Unicorn Dazzler is the Trigger, but for it to be considered the best, it needs to beat the current 150cc champ, the Yamaha FZ-S. We get astride both and find out.

You’ll find all this and a whole lot more in Autocar India’s July 2013 issue
