Mahindra XUV 3XO

The XUV 3XO is big on flash; new headlamps with C-shaped LED DRLs give it a distinct identity

The 3XO looks muscular in profile and the 17-inch wheels are largest in the segment, but the rear still looks brutally chopped.

The interior is borrowed from the XUV400, but the bigger talking point is the enhanced quality – it even gets soft-touch materials on the dashboard.

Standout features include segment-first panoramic sunroof, new 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster from XUV700, electronic parking brake, 360-degree camera, ADAS suite and dual-zone climate control.

There are three engines on offer – 111hp, 1.2-litre 3-cyls turbo-petrol; 131hp, 1.2-litre 3-cyls turbo-petrol and 117hp, 1.5-litre 4-cyls turbo-diesel

The diesel engine is very likeable with a nice spread of power, but you experience the best of the XUV 3XO in the mStallion T-GDi turbo-petrol powered variant.

There’s a hint of firmness in the ride quality, but it feels reassuring and also comfortable. Steering doesn't feel quite precise.

Good: Upmarket interior, strong engines, long equipment list
Bad: luggage space
