Kia Carens

Scores 3-star safety rating at GNCAP crash test

Adult occupant protection

22.07 points out of 34 possible

Child occupant protection

40.92 points out of 49 possible

Carens has the same result as the last time it was tested by Global NCAP,

This time, however, Kia has volunteered the MPV to be tested under the new protocols that came into effect in 2022.

Curiously, the Carens was tested twice under the new norms as the MPV was given zero stars for adult occupancy protection in the first crash test.

In both tests, the bodyshell integrity in the frontal impacts was considered unstable and not capable of withstanding further loadings.

Global NCAP mentioned in its report that it was “not the performance that Global NCAP expected as the Carens offers six airbags as standard.”
