Quote bluesapphire Replybullet Topic: Facelifted Honda CR-V launched.
    Posted: 03 Nov 2009 at 5:05pm

Hi guys.
Honda today launched a facelifted version of its popular SUV CR-V.   The new CR-V comes with a refreshed look with the following changes

* new two-step front grille,

* re-sculpted hood & front bumper design

* A new 10-spoke alloy wheel design replaces the previous 7-spoke alloy wheel design.

* oval shape fog lamps

* a new rear bumper

Because of all these changes, lenght of new CR-V goes up by 45 mm and measures 4575 mm in length while maintaining the same width, height, ground clearance and head clearance. Inside the new CR-V too there are many changes. The 2.4 L model now comes with a steering-mounted Cruise Control system with illuminated controls. The music system features a new USB port in the upper glove compartment in keeping with the latest trend of music storage. The overall interior colour scheme has been brightened and gives a more premium look with chrome finish in audio controls & gear knob and coordinated colour changes in the dashboard and centre console. The centrally located LCD meter display is now blue in colour with design changes in the indicators for improved decipherability. The vanity mirror is equipped with a light to assist visibility during darkness. New CR-V also sports more airbags including Side-Curtain airbags and Side Airbags with Occupant Position Detection System (OPDS).

The new CR-V will be available in two new colours – Opal Sage Metallic and Premium Mystic Night Pearl along with the existing range of Polished Metal, Alabaster Silver, Crystal Black Pearl and Premium White.

Source - Vicky.

More airbags are welcome but still it doesnt justifies the price we are paying, additions like parking sensors, DVD screens, a Navigation system, chiller box, etc would have still justified it afterall in the month of September which is peak sales time for this industry, the CR-v sold was only 1, so more features should have been there but its Honda, will never learn. But still this face-lifted model is better than previous one but still at this price i dont think there will be many takers.

Pics to follow soon.

the main reason for CRV not selling is the price and not the features , now they have added more features so it might be more expensive

15000 price increase. If Honda wishes to sell any car other than City in respectable nos. it has to make the CRV here. Look what happened to Fortuner. It is getting beaten by its Jap rival in all the segments where they are fighting. Dunno what will happen when Toyota launches the Jazz and City rivals. Jazz will go to double digits while City will face real competition for the first time if the polo sedan had not already done that

Honda wants to milk on the the brand value it recalls in India!! And they are over-doing it.

Their cars are high on the sticker price, low on features and the spares apart from the regular servicing are too costly.

CR-V lost on the price front, and even the Jazz is tasting failure it seems.
Their initial sales target for Jazz was around 3000 units per month. However, it sold only 1300-1500 units/month. And now, it is around than 500units/month.

A useless event unless Honda brings down the Price & brings in a Diesel!

@DD, no thats the same we are having it now.
Refer to pics posted by Sandy, its the facelifted one, looks better than current one but not worth with its high price tag and too low FE.

@Sandy, thanks for pics, seems these are taken by you.

How can Honda possibly expet success for CR-V at 23-25L. All other cars in its competition are priced much much lower than this. And its not like the competition is in any way inferior to the CR-V. The Captiva, Outlander both cost 2-4 lacs less and are pretty competent cars. Preposterous, I say!!
