Gill clinches victory at the INRC
Gaurav Gill has finally ended his 13 months’ drought without a win. Gill and co-driver Musa Sherif of Team MRF clocked the best time at the Super Special Stage on day 3 of the Rally de Kolkata to win the third leg of Speed-Indian National Rally Championship.

Gill had a lead of 1 minute 17 seconds over his closest rival Amittrajit Ghosh of Red Rooster at the end of day two and was just 1.2 km away from clinching the title the following day.

Gill was quickest on the first two days and on day three he managed to stay four seconds ahead of Ghosh. At the end, Gill managed to secure 16 points to Ghosh’s 12 and marked his presence in the championship stakes after two DNF in the previous two rounds at Coimbatore and Bangalore.

This victory could not have come at a better time for Gill as he now leaves for the sixth round of the Asia Pacific Rally Championship (APRC) in Indonesia where he had won last year.
