    Volkswagen has launched the Virtus and Taigun Sound Edition just a few weeks after launching the Taigun Trail Edition. Prices for the Virtus Sound Edition start at Rs 15.52 lakh and that of the Taigun starts at Rs 16.33 lakh. Both models do not receive any mechanical updates and are focused purely on musical experience, like the Nissan Magnite Geza edition.

    Volkswagen Virtus, Taigun Sound Edition interior, features

    The Sound Edition, as the name suggests, gets a speaker and amplifier system, and powered front seats, features that were previously introduced in the GT Plus variants of both models. Skoda also updated their sedan, the Slavia, with these updates.

    On the outside, the models get badging on the C-pillar and doors to signify that it’s a special edition. On the Taigun, additionally, you can opt for contrasting colours for the roof and wing mirrors. The Volkswagen Virtus and Taigun Sound Edition are available in four colours – Lava Blue, Carbon Steel Grey, Wild Cherry Red and Rising Blue.

    The 1.0-litre TSI engine that this special edition comes with makes 115hp and 178Nm, and both cars come mated to either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic gearbox.

    The Volkswagen Virtus rivals the Skoda Slavia, Hyundai Verna, Honda City and the Maruti Ciaz, while the Taigun rivals the Honda Elevate, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara and the Skoda Kushaq.
