Skoda has introduced the Virtual Cockpit interface in India. While the top-spec Octavia L&K variant is the first model in India to come with this feature, Skoda is yet to officially announce its arrival. A few Octavia L&K units have already been spotted at various dealer stockyards equipped with the Virtual Cockpit.

The Skoda Virtual cockpit features a large, high-definition TFT screen with a customisable layout and 3D graphics in place of traditional analogue dials. The system allows users to prioritise the instruments over the sat-nav map or vice versa. Additionally, entertainment, trip and driving assist information screens are also customisable. Controls mounted on the steering wheel allow the user to switch between different displays and control zoom functions the map.

This feature is internationally available only on the Octavia and higher models such as the Superb and the Kodiaq. This means that the India-spec versions of the brand’s flagship sedan and the seven-seat SUV may come with the Virtual Cockpit in the future. Skoda’s Creta-rivalling SUV for India, which is slated to come in 2020, will come with this feature as well, at least on the top variant.
