Range Rover Velar design and features

Compared to the previous model, the 2024 Range Rover Velar gets a new lighting signature along with a pixel LED setup in the front and a new tail-light at the rear. The biggest changes are on the inside, with the brand giving the Velar a new minimalist look by doing away with the physical touch buttons for the climate control and moving all controls to a new, 11.4-inch curved infotainment screen. The luxury SUV comes loaded with features such as a 360-degree camera with an under-bonnet view, 20-way massage front seats, a power recline for the rear seats, an air purifier, wireless charging, a Meridian sound system, a powered tailgate, a panoramic sunroof and four-zone climate control.

Range Rover Velar powertrain and performance

The Range Rover Velar is available with a choice of a 2.0-litre petrol engine that produces 250hp and 365Nm, and a 2.0-litre diesel engine that’s mated to a mild-hybrid system making a total of 204hp and 430Nm; both engines get all-wheel-drive and are mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The petrol Velar can sprint from 0-100kph in 7.5 seconds while the diesel-powered Velar can do the same sprint in 8.3 seconds.

    Range Rover Velar rivals

At this price point, the Range Rover Velar rivals the Mercedes-Benz GLE (Rs 96.4 lakh), BMW X5 (Rs 96 lakh), Porsche Macan (Rs 88.06 lakh)  and Jaguar F-Pace (Rs 72.9 lakh).
