Maruti Suzuki True Value expands to 200 outlets

Maruti Suzuki has announced that its used car arm, True Value, has expanded its reach to 200 outlets across 132 cities; this was achieved within 19 months of launching an overhauled used car dealer network.

Commenting on the occasion, RS Kalsi, senior executive director, marketing and sales, Maruti Suzuki India said, “The pre-owned car market is rapidly growing, and customers are putting their trust in organised players for their needs. With the upgrade of Maruti Suzuki True Value showrooms, customers can avail a better experience, better products and a hassle-free journey of car buying”.

Back in 2017, we had reported that Maruti was overhauling its used car dealer network to include new stand-alone dealerships with greater floor space. It would also be offering an enhanced buying experience through dedicated relationship managers, as well as revise True Value’s digital presence via a dedicated app and website. At the time, the automaker had said that it would expand its reach to 150 stand-alone outlets by March 2018.

Maruti Suzuki says that its cars retailed via True Value go through a 375 check point inspection, before undergoing certification. The carmaker also says that its certified cars also require to meet certain criteria such as having travelled less than 1 lakh km, being under 7 years of age, not used for commercial purposes or retrofitted with aftermarket CNG kits and being non accidental. Unlike Mahindra’s used car business ‘First Choice’, Maruti only certifies and resell its own vehicles.
