Hyundai Creta prices down by up to Rs 63,000

Hyundai recently announced a reduction in prices across its India portfolio by up to 5.9 percent after the implementation of Goods and Services Tax (GST). The Hyundai Creta range now starts at Rs 8.92 lakh and goes up to Rs 14 lakh as opposed to Rs 9.28 lakh – Rs 14.64 lakh pre-GST (ex-showroom, Delhi).

As the Creta is longer than 4 metres, it attracts the highest cess (15 percent) above the base 28 percent GST rate.

The Creta is available with 14 different configurations while engine options include a 90hp, 1.4-litre diesel, a 128hp, 1.6-litre diesel, and a 123hp, 1.6-litre petrol motor. The 1.4-litre mill only gets a six-speed manual while the 1.6-litre engines send power to the front wheels via either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic.

Its rivals include the Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano and the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross.

The variant-wise prices below are ex-showroom, Delhi.

Due to the revision in prices, every Hyundai car from the Eon to the Santa Fe is more affordable by about Rs 1,000 for the former and by Rs 1.72-1.92 lakh for the latter. However, unlike brands such as Skoda, Nissan, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Volvo, the prices of Hyundai cars will continue to vary from city to city.
