Big discounts on Mercedes-Benz GLE SUV

With the next-generation model set to be introduced in the coming months, Mercedes-Benz dealers have started offering sizeable discounts of up to Rs 7.75 lakh on the MY18 GLE SUV in a bid to clear stocks.

The benefits (cash discounts and exchange bonuses), however, are applicable on just the diesel variants – the GLE 250d and the GLE 350d. Furthermore, the performance-oriented GLE 43 AMG Coupe is also being offered with a cash discount of up to Rs 2.5 lakh on MY18 cars.

The current-gen Mercedes-Benz GLE is available with two diesels and a petrol engine. The diesel range consists of a 204hp, 2.2-litre, four-cylinder unit in the 250d and a 258hp, 3.0-litre V6 in the 350d variant. The petrol GLE 400 is powered by a 333hp, 3.0-litre, twin-turbo V6 motor, which also powers the GLE 43 AMG Coupe but in a 367hp state of tune. All engines come with a 9-speed torque converter automatic gearbox which sends power to all four wheels via Mercedes’ 4MATIC system.

The next-gen Mercedes GLE is larger than its predecessor and will get the option of seven seats. It looks more muscular and has a new interior. And as we mentioned in our review, the new-gen GLE impressed us with its level of tech, the quality of the interior and overall refinement.

In India, the Mercedes-Benz GLE range is priced from Rs 66.48 lakh to Rs 77.40 lakh (on-road, Delhi) and rivals the BMW X5, the Volvo XC90 and the Audi Q7. The Mercedes-AMG GLE 43 Coupe, meanwhile, is priced at Rs 1.13 crore (on-road, Delhi) and competes with the BMW X6, the Jaguar F-Pace and the Range Rover Velar.
