Maruti Suzuki has launched the new second-gen Ertiga with prices starting at Rs 7.44 lakh and going up to Rs 10.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Larger than its predecessor, the new Ertiga is offered with Maruti’s ubiquitous 1.3-litre diesel engine in its 90hp tune and a new 1.5-litre petrol engine borrowed from the Ciaz facelift. The petrol motor is good for 105hp and 138Nm of torque.

This time around, Maruti is offering SHVS mild-hybrid technology on both, the petrol and diesel models as it did with the updated Ciaz. While the diesel model carries forward the same setup as its predecessor, the petrol motor is offered with two batteries, with one used to provide torque assistance in daily driving. Gearboxes on offer include a 5-speed manual, with a petrol-only 4-speed torque converter automatic. The MPV is available in 10 variant options for buyers to choose from.

Here’s what howmuch each variant costs and what you get with each variant of Maruti Suzuki’s next-gen Ertiga:

Compared to the outgoing Ertiga, the second-gen Ertiga's base LXi petrol variant costs a full Rs 1.1 lakh more, possibly owing to the added features like rear parking sensors, dual airbags and two-battery mild-hybrid setup it offers. The price difference between other petrol variants ranges from Rs 50,000-72,000. Interestingly, the diesel LDi and VDi models cost roughly the same as before, and the ZDi and ZDi+ are Rs 44,000 and Rs 21,000 more expensive, respectively.

Unlike recently launched top-spec variants of the Maruti Suzuki Swift, Ignis and Dzire, the new Ertiga’s top-spec trim does not get LED headlamps, LED DRLs and diamond-cut alloy wheels.

Maruti has decided to offer the Ertiga from its standard dealerships that had been rebadged as Maruti Arena. The decision is believed to be due to the wider area of operation of the standard dealerships. The new Ertiga takes on the likes of the Mahindra Marazzo (Rs 9.99-13.90 lakh) and the Renault Lodgy (8.63-12.12 lakh) in our market.
