2017 Tata Nexon price, variants explained

    Tata has launched its Nexon with prices starting at Rs 5.85 lakh and going up to Rs 9.45 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the top-spec XZ+ variant. The Nexon is available with two engine options – a three-cylinder, 1.2-litre turbo-petrol making 110hp and 170Nm and a four-cylinder, 1.5-litre, turbo-diesel producing 110hp and 260Nm. Both engines are paired to a six-speed manual transmission that sends power to the front wheels.

    Tata offers the Nexon in four trim levels with both engine options. Here's a compilation of all the equipment that you can get with each variant:

    The Nexon is offered with a total of five exterior paint shade options – Moroccan blue, Vermont red, Seattle silver, Glasgow grey and Calgary white. Dealers had begun accepting bookings for the SUV in early September with deliveries in early October. The Nexon will take on the likes of the Maruti Vitara Brezz and the Ford EcoSport. At this price point, the entry-level Nexon significantly undercuts its rivals while the top-spec diesels are on par with its competition.
