Jawa and Yezdi owners are among the few classic bike owners in the country who put regular miles on their bikes and often tour over long distances. To help keep this going, the Bangalore Jawa Yezdi Motorcycle Club (BJYMC) recently released a Google Map listing of Jawa and Yezdi mechanics in India. At present, they have a total of 30 mechanics listed across six states on the map. This is set to increase as users add more trusted mechanics to the map.

The idea of having a mechanic map listing came about when one group member faced trouble with his motorcycle in a city he was visiting. Thankfully, the club did have an excel sheet of the mechanics and managed to help the rider out. This incident helped point out that a map format would be far more convenient. Users who wish to add new mechanics to the listing are required to provide sufficient details along with a contact number and a major landmark.

The six states that have been covered for now are Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Rajasthan and Jammu and Kashmir. Prateek Baliga, the man leading this project, also told us that he was working on a map listing for spare parts shops, but this is still some time away. Till then, here is the link to the map.
