    2020 Yamaha Majesty S 155 revealed

Yamaha has launched a new scooter – the Majesty S – in Japan at ¥3,45,000 (Rs 2.4 lakh). It’s still unsure which other countries the new model will make its way to, but it's likely that Malaysia and Philippines are on the list.

Yamaha currently sells two other 155cc models in these countries – the NMax and the NVX 155. The new Majesty S shares its engine with the NMax, and this is the same VVA-equipped 155c single-cylinder unit that we get to experience on the R15 V3.0.However, on the scooters, they have been detuned slightly and produce 15hp at 7,500rpm and 14Nm of torque at 6,000rpm.

The Majesty S is styled like a maxi-scooter and, if it ever made its way to India, it will rival the Aprilia SXR160 that made its debut at the Auto Expo earlier this year. The Majesty S 155 has a relatively tall seat, at 795mm, which is on par with that of most motorcycles in India. It’s also quite heavy, at 145kg, and part of this weight comes down to the large 7.4-litre fuel tank. The Majesty S uses a telescopic fork and monoshock setup, while braking is handled by a 267mm disc at the front and a 245mm disc at the rear.
