    Volkswagen unveils new T6 Transporter

VW’s Transporter van Series has just got bigger, with the addition of the T6. It retains the same footprint and boxy silhouette as its predecessor, the T5.

The front fascia with the new slender grille, angular headlights and larger air intakes are some of the few changes made on the exterior.  At the back, the T6 gets rounded wheel arches, straight character lines, and a new tailgate with an integrated spoiler.

The interior of the T6 boasts higher quality material and a better design. Glaring highlights include an upgraded dashboard, metallic accents and a high-tech infotainment system which has a 6.33-inch display, with sensors that recognise hand movements and gestures.

The T6 comes with an array of new features including a new heated windscreen, electrically operated tailgate, Front Assist area monitoring system, adaptive cruise control and the new Dynamic Cruise Control that offers three different driving modes, namely, Comfort, Normal and Sport. It will also have adjustable shock absorbers and a City Emergency Braking System that automatically applies the brakes to prevent or reduce the severity of a crash. The customers can also order a Light Assist system that automatically dims the high beams when oncoming traffic is detected.

The T6 is powered by a new generation of 2.0-litre engine TDI engines. The variants will have power outputs of 83bhp, 101bhp, 148bhp and 201bhp. The model can also be equipped with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, making 148bhp and 201bhp.

To celebrate the launch of the T6 Transporter van, VW will offer a limited edition model called the ‘Generation SIX’, based on the Multivan Comfortline passenger model upgraded with additional features and standard comfort and safety features.
