Aiming for a market share of 2 to 3 percent in the commuter segment, TVS has launched the Star City + in Pune in two variants. The top-end model, priced at Rs 44,000 (ex-showroom, Pune), comes with the option of an electric starter.

The Star City + is powered by a 109cc, four-stroke, single-cylinder and air-cooled powerplant, that generates 8.18bhp at 7000pm, with peak torque output of 0.88kgm made at 5000rpm, and is mated to a four-speed gearbox, that works in the all four-up pattern.

This new commuter boasts features like an analogue-cum-digital instrument cluster with power and economy mode indicators and a service interval indicator, shock absorbers finished in white, alloy wheels and an electric starter (top-end variant).

With seven more regional launches to go, the company plans to offer this bike across its dealerships in a phased manner, with three colour options – blue, black and red.
