Tata is ready with the GenX Nano. When it launches, the GenX Nano will be made available in four trims – XE, XM, XT and XTA (AMT). Headlining the changes are the addition of an openable tailgate and the option of an AMT gearbox.
Dealers have started accepting bookings for the GenX Nano at a nominal amount of Rs 5,000. Some dealers have said that the GenX Nano will be rolled into showrooms for display on May 1, so it’s possible that the launch will follow soon after.
Other information from dealers indicate that although deliveries will commence immediately after the launch and the manual GenX Nano will have no waiting period, the AMT version is likely to have a little bit of a waiting period.
It also seems that there is considerable interest being shown by customers for the GenX Nano Easy Shift (AMT). Dealers say majority of enquiries are regarding the AMT model. The GenX Nano with the AMT gearbox gets a Sports mode that allows for a bit of zippy driving, and there’s also a Creep function that allows for crawling without any throttle input. The boot space in the AMT-equipped model is 94 litres, while the petrol manual has 110 litres of boot space.
Other changes on the GenX Nano include a bigger fuel tank, new-look steering wheel, and an audio system with four speakers, Bluetooth, aux-in and USB.
Tata is expected to price the GenX Nano in the range of Rs 2.80 – 3.20 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
