Tata introduces new ‘Impact’ design language

Tata has introduced its new design language called ‘Impact’. The company has also revealed that the Zica is the first model to be based on this new language with future Tata models to also follow the same principle.

The design language as per Tata’s design head, Pratap Bose, is based on the impression formed on prospective customers within the first 20 seconds of viewing a car. Tata said that its new design language stands for ‘Immediate IMPACT at first sight. Lasting IMPACT over time’.

The Zica is the first model to feature Tata's new 'Impact' design language; more models to follow.

Tata also added that future models based on the new ‘Impact’ design language will feature best-in-class size, well-proportioned cabin-to-body ratio and location of wheels along with current design traits of Tata cars such as the Humanity Line and Slingshot Line design.

Inside, the upcoming cars based on the new design language will have driver-centric layouts with a layered cockpit and cleverly placed storage spaces across the spacious cabin.

“Today, the automakers are developing innovative technologies to cater to the needs of the new generation of customers. Design is among the key factors for car purchase decisions. Tata Motors recognises this and presents Impact Design – as a key focus for the company’s passenger vehicle strategy.  The new, youthful, energetic and bold character of the passenger vehicles by Tata Motors is sure to make a lasting impact on our customers and on the Indian roads,” Mayank Pareek, president, Passenger Vehicle Business Unit, Tata Motors said about the company’s new design language.
