    Skoda range gets SmartGate connectivity

Skoda has further improved the in-car connectivity offered on its  models with a new function called SmartGate. The SmartLink system that is available on the company's current range internationally, allows access to infotainment, music, media and navigation, but the new SmartGate system is more inclined towards efficient driving.

Android or iOS devices are connected via Wi-Fi, and the apps on your smartphone download data such as performance figures and running costs from the car. Skoda also offers a few free apps like Skoda Drive, Skoda Service, the G-meter, Performance, Skoda Motorsound and MFA-pro.

Skoda offers SmartGate on the entire line-up comprising of the Fabia, Rapid, Rapid Spaceback, Octavia, Yeti and the Superb. The applications are available for download on Google Playstore, Apple Appstore and Windows Store. However, there is no news of  the innovative system coming to India, as of now.
