The fifth of June is celebrated as the 'World Environment Day'. As a complimentary service to customers Skoda and Mahindra have come up with an initiative to help them keep a check on their vehicles' emissions. Both carmakers will be carrying out free PUC checks, pan-India, all through the day on the June 5.

Skoda calls its initiative 'Free Pollution Check'. It will take place across all its dealerships in India, and technicians will also be providing free engine cleanups. Customers will be given a SIAM-approved certificate at the end of the check.

Mahindra dealerships, across India, will carry out the free PUC checks for passenger and commercial vehicles in association with SIAM and SAFE. Speaking on the occasion, Sanjoy Gupta, VP - customer care, Automotive Division, M&M Ltd said "Mahindra has always been committed to the cause of sustainable development across its entire value chain. Our products conform to the strictest emission norms and reaffirm our commitment and responsibility towards society and a clean and green tomorrow. The Free Pollution check-up campaign organized to commemorate the World Environment Day across our entire service network is a modest step to further that vision and offer better value to our customers."

As part of the occasion, Mahindra also plans to distribute saplings to customers and stakeholders.
