    Shanghai motor show 2015 report

The Shanghai motor show saw a fair share of debuts from the likes of BMW, Mercedes-Benz, McLaren, Audi and Volvo to name a few. The Shanghai edition of the motor show along with its counterpart, the Beijing motor show, mainly concentrates on cars being developed for the Chinese market — both by international and local manufacturers — but is also a platform to unveil new cars on the global platform.

This year at Shanghai we saw the entry-level model for McLaren’s new Sports Series range with the 540C, Volvo’s entry into the super-luxury SUV segment with the XC90 Excellence along with landmark cars for certain brands such as the six millionth SUV from Land Rover. From the local manufacturers we saw cars like the Land Wind X7, an SUV that draws inspiration from the Range Rover Evoque and the Zoyte E01, an all-electric car that drew styling inspiration from the BMW i3, Smart Fortwo and the Range Rover Evoque.
