Renault Kwid launch on September 24, 2015

The Renault Kwid will hit Indian showrooms on September 24, 2015. Renault's new offering is aimed squarely at rivals such as the Maruti WagonR, Datsun Go and Maruti Alto

The Kwid will come with a 799cc three-cylinder petrol engine that is good for 53.2bhp. It weighs only 660kg thanks to the lightweight construction and all-aluminium engine. The Kwid delivers an impressive fuel economy figure of 25.17kpl. It is 3,679mm long, 1,579mm wide, 1,478mm high, and has a wheelbase measuring 2,422mm. The class-leading ground clearance of 180mm gives the Kwid its
mini-SUV stance. Boot space is impressive at 300 litres, and will exceed that of most of its rivals.

The Kwid will be available in four trim levels – Standard, RXE, RXL and RXT – that will get a standard five-speed manual gearbox and 13-inch tubeless tyres. Renault will also provide around 60 accessories for personalisation.

The top-spec variant of the Kwid will be equipped with a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with USB/aux and Bluetooth connectivity. Customers will get a 2-year/50,000km warranty on the car. Renault is likely to price the Kwid in the range of Rs 3-4 lakh (ex-showroom).
