Mahindra has launched a refreshed version of the Xylo MPV. The refreshed car gets a few mechanical tweaks, cosmetic improvements, and some equipment and feature additions.

The refreshed Xylo is available with two diesel engine options and five trims namely, D2, D4, H4, H8 and H9. Prices for the BSIII variants start at Rs 7.52 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and the BSIV variants start at Rs 7.66 lakh. BSIII and BSIV are emission standards with metros and tier-2 cities following stricter BSIV norms.

The D2 and D4 trims are available with the 93.7bhp 2.5-litre CRDe engine either in BSIII or BSIV standard. The BSIII engine will be available in tier-3 cities or rural areas only. The H4, H8 and H9 trims are available with the 118bhp 2.2-litre mHAWK (BSIV only) that also does duty in the Scorpio. This unit comes coupled with the 5MT320 five-speed manual gearbox that will be seen on the new Scorpio too. Apparently, the suspension has also been reworked to offer a more comfortable ride, improve stability and reduce bodyroll.

Cosmetically, the refreshed Xylo gets a tweaked front and rear end with some chrome garnish. There are also new alloys, some decals and new roof-rails.

On the inside, it gets a new black-beige theme with new revised upholstery. The refreshed Xylo also sees a Bluetooth-enabled double-DIN audio system with voice commands, a new instrument cluster and steering-mounted audio and cruise controls. It comes with features like a flexible 60:40 third row, electric wing mirrors, front dual airbags, ABS with EBD and reversing assist with digital display.

With the refreshed Xylo coming out in this festive season, the move can be deemed as Mahindra's renewed step in a segment that has seen new players like the Honda Mobilio.
