Porsche had earlier shelved the development of a sub-Panamera model, rumoured to be called Pajun, in 2014. However, the carmaker appears to have started work on this model once again.

The Pajun is expected to have a five-door coupé body, as opposed to the larger Panamera’s four-door liftback exterior. It is likely to rival more mainstream models in international markets, such as the Audi A6, Mercedes E-class and BMW 5-series.

The baby Panamera has previously been reported to share parts with the A6, meaning it could use power from some of the car’s V6 petrol and diesel engines. The Pajun could also likely get its own range-topping power unit with something in the region of 507hp on offer.

Our sister publication, Autocar UK’s sources believe four and two-wheel-drive versions of the Pajun will be available, as with the Panamera. With Porsche remaining tight-lipped about the model, its arrival is yet unconfirmed. However, Autocar UK’s sources believe it is slated for a 2019 launch.
