Andreas Preuninger, manager of Porsche High Performance Cars told our sister magazine Autocar UK that future models of the 911 GT series will be equipped with its naturally aspirated engines in place of the new all-turbo line-up of the standard 911.
No details have been revealed about the engines; however, the 4.0-litre from the current GT3 RS would provide a good foundation for a new engine in the next-generation GT3.
As per claims, Porsche may be considering offering a manual transmission as an option for the GT3 models. Preuninger confirmed a new GT2 RS would be built, but only for the next-generation models.
The last GT2 RS offered 611bhp and weighed only 1,370kg and was widely regarded as the most extreme 911 ever to be sold.
