Nissan is set to unveil the facelifted GT-R at the New York motor show 2016 which starts next week. As a precursor to the debut, Nissan has released a teaser image that shows the rear silhouette of the car.
However, there are no details as to what Nissan has done to improve the GT-R though we can expect it to receive minor styling tweaks to the exterior along with some mechanical updates to improve performance. With the 3.8-litre twin-turbo V6 capable of developing between 542bhp (base) and 591bhp (GT-R Nismo), a power bump isn’t out of the question.
As per company insiders, this facelifted model is likely to be the last in the current GT-R line, with the next GT-R said to be an all-new model.
The all-new GT-R is due in 2018 and is expected to feature a hybrid powertrain and bear a strong technical link to the company’s GT-R LM Nismo Le Mans race car.
