Mercedes is currently developing a new C 63 AMG, and claims that it "will further raise the bar in terms of performance and fuel consumption."
Still unconfirmed, the C 63 successor is likely to be powered by a V8 engine that’s similar to the twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 of the AMG GT. In the entry-level AMG GT, the motor makes 455.6bhp and 61kgm of torque, while the AMG GT S boasts 503bhp and 66.2kgm of torque.
AMG CEO Tobias Moers said, “It goes without saying that the successor to the current C 63 AMG will again be powered by an eight-cylinder engine. We owe that to our loyal fans, plain and simple." He further added "The AMG V8 Biturbo engine mesmerizes not only with maximum power and torque, but also with the absolute best fuel economy in the comparative segment”.
