Suzuki Motorcycle India has been quiet for sometime now, working behind doors in order to revamp its position in the Indian market, as evident from its recently launched Inazuma. Furthermore, setting its eyes on the fast-growing scooter market, Suzuki is expected to take the wraps off a new automatic scooter soon.

The new scooter will be powered by a newly developed 110cc, single-cylinder, four-stroke engine, likely to deliver a maximum power output in the range of 7 to 8bhp.

The new scooter will enable Suzuki to not only enter the 110cc scooter segment, but also help the company sell substantial volumes. SMIL also plans to unveil an upgraded version of its 113cc commuter, the Hayate.

According to sources, the new Hayate variant has undergone a few cosmetic changes through added graphics along with mechanical changes, improving its fuel efficiency.

SMIL’s current motorcycle portfolio includes the Hayate, Slingshot Plus and the GS150R in the 100cc, 125cc and 150cc segment respectively, followed by a scooter range that includes the Access 125 and Swish 125.
