    New Maruti S-cross feature list revealed

    Maruti will launch the S-cross next month.

    The country's biggest car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki, will launch its compact crossover, the S-Cross next month.  We have got our hands on the features and equipment details for the India-spec car. As revealed earlier, the S-Cross will be offered with two engine options, badged the DDiS 320 and the DDiS 200, for the 1.6 and 1.3 respectively.  The Maruti S-Cross will be offered in four trim levels called Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha, and while the DDiS 200 will be available in all of those trims, the DDiS 320 will only come in the top three. 

    The Maruti S-Cross Sigma (1.3 - Rs 8.34 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi) will get the following features:

    ·         ABS

    ·         Dual front airbags

    ·         Rear disc brake

    ·         Steel wheels with covers (205/60 R16)

    ·         Fabric upholstery

    ·         TFT information display with seven-step illumination control

    ·         Trip meter with fuel consumption and outside temperature display

    ·         Driver seat belt reminder

    ·         Central locking

    ·         Keyless entry

    ·         Power windows

    ·         Electrically adjustable wing mirror

    ·         Tilt steering

    ·         60:40 split rear seats

    ·         Driver airbag

    ·         Disc brakes (front and rear)

    In the addition to the features on the lower trims, the S-cross Delta (1.3 - Rs 9.15 lakh, 1.6 - Rs 11.99 lakh) gets:

    ·         Roof rails

    ·         Illuminated glovebox, luggage compartment and front footwell

    ·         Anti-theft security system

    ·         Reverse parking sensor with display

    ·         Telescopic steering

    ·         Sliding-front centre armrest with storage

    ·         Four-speaker audio system with CD player with USB, aux and Bluetooth compatibility

    ·         Steering-mounted audio and Bluetooth controls

    ·         Remote control for audio system

    The Zeta (1.3 - Rs 9.99 lakh, 1.6 - Rs 12.99 lakh) trim comes equipped with a few more features apart from the Delta’s standard fare:

    ·         Alloy wheels (205/60 R16)

    ·         Front fog lamps

    ·         Electrically folding wing mirrors

    ·         Automatic climate control

    ·         Height-adjustable driver seat

    ·         Reclining rear seat

    ·         Reverse camera

    ·         Rear centre armrest with cup holder

    ·         Rear wiper and washer

    ·         Rear demister

    ·         SmartPlay infotainment system

    ·         Navigation system

    ·         Remote control through smartphone app

    ·         Voice command

    ·         Key-less entry and go

    ·         Cruise Control

    Only the top Alpha (1.3 - Rs 10.75 lakh, 1.6 - Rs 13.74 lakh) trim comes equipped with the following:

    ·         Leather upholstery with leather wrapped steering wheel

    ·         HID projector headlamps

    ·         Automatic headlamps

    ·         Rain sensing wipers

    ·         Auto-dimming rearview mirror

    The Maruti S-cross will compete directly with Hyundai’s soon-to-be-launched Creta, the Renault Duster and the Nissan Terrano. Considering the features offered across the trim levels of the S-cross, it is clear that Maruti has its sights set on Hyundai. The Korean automaker has a reputation of  equipping its car’s with a long list of features, but it looks like the S-Cross won’t disappoint in this department either.
