New Fiat Punto Evo variant details leaked

    The new Fiat Punto Evo retains the same 1.2-litre and 1.4-litre petrol engines, and the 1.3-litre diesel engine in two states of tune.

    The Fiat Punto has always been a stylish hatchback. Fiat India is about to launch the Punto facelift very soon, and the carmaker is calling it the Punto Evo. The facelifted Punto gets a good amount of exterior and interior cosmetic upgrades along with additional equipment, but no mechanical changes.

    The new Fiat Punto Evo will continue to be powered by the same 1.2-litre petrol engine and the bigger 1.4-litre petrol engine. The smaller petrol engine is available in Active and Dynamic trims, while the bigger motor is offered in the Emotion trim.

    The 1.3-litre diesel motor has been carried over too and is available in two states of tune- 75bhp and 90bhp. The 75bhp version powers the Active, Dynamic and Emotion trims. The top Punto Evo diesel Sport trim gets the 90bhp version.   

    The base Active trim comes equipped with turn indicators on wing mirrors, automatic door locking, central locking, body colored bumpers, rear parcel shelf and tilt steering. It also gets air-conditioning, power steering, front power windows, follow-me-home headlamps and 14-inch steel wheels with 165/80 section rear tyres. The instrumentation console gets a digital clock, odometer and trip-meter along with a mileage indicator, distance to empty indicator and service reminder. There's also a trip calculator which shows the average speed and duration.

    In addition to the features of the Active trim, the Punto Evo Dynamic trim gets ABS with EBD (only for the diesel), height adjustment for the driver’s seat and front seat belts. Body coloured wing mirrors and door handles, and electrically adjustable wing mirrors, and front and rear power windows are also included. It also gets an integrated audio system with radio, CD, MP3, USB and Aux-in compatibility, and speed sensitive volume control. The on-board computer also shows external temperature.

    The Emotion trip additionally gets driver and front passenger airbags, chrome-plated door handles, front fog lamps, climate control, rear AC vents, leather wrapped steering wheel and gear shift knob, rear defogger, rear window washer and wiper. There’s also Bluetooth, steering mounted audio controls, 15-inch diamond cut alloy wheels wrapped around tubeless 195/60 section tyres.

    The top diesel Punto Evo Sport trim will get the aforementioned equipment and features, and additionally an all black dashboard, rear spoiler and 16-inch alloy wheels.

    The new Fiat Punto Evo will launch in India very soon.
