Mercedes has revealed two new models, the CLA Shooting Brake and its treated-for-performance sibling the CLA 45 AMG Shooting Brake. Both models will go on sale in global markets in early 2015.

Design of the Shooting Brake variants is very similar to that of the CLA sedan. The Shooting Brake gets a wagon bodystyle, so the only changes seen are beyond the rear seat. The CLA Shooting Brake is 4.6 metres in length and boasts has boot space of 495 litres (1,354 litres with the rear seats folded). It also gets an electric tailgate and the options of a lockable boot floor and aluminium roof rails.

The CLA Shooting Brake comes with the option of two diesel and four petrol engines. The diesel variants include the CLA200 CDI 4Matic, the CLA220 CDI 4Matic and the CLA250 4Matic model. The top-of-the-line new CLA45 AMG Shooting Brake is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine, developing 355bhp and 46kgm of torque. The CLA45 AMG Shooting Brake is capable of reaching a limited top speed of 250kph, while going from 0-100kph in 4.7 seconds.

The models will debut at the Geneva motor show in March next year.
