Mayank Pareek takes charge of passenger cars, Tata Motors

Tata Motors has announced the appointment of Mayank Pareek as its president, passenger vehicle business unit (PVBU), with effect from October 1, 2014.

He takes over from Ranjit Yadav, who has been shifted to the international business division for both passenger cars and commercial vehicles. As president, PVBU, Pareek will be responsible for steering the passenger vehicle business and will also be a member of the corporate steering committee.

Pareek resigned from Maruti Suzuki some weeks ago, having worked with the company for over two decades and amid speculation of his moving to Tata Motors. His last role at Maruti was as the chief operating officer, heading marketing and sales.

Pareek, who joined Maruti in 1991, led several new strategic initiatives at Maruti that included leasing, financing and used cars.
